Group A3

- Where: Stadio San Siro (Milan, Italy)
- Channel: Fubo Sports Network
- Stream: FuboTV
Two squads that probably expected better results face off, hoping to get back up the group standings.
Italy won just once in their opening four matches, that coming against Hungary in their second match of the season. However, a pair of draws, and a loss to Germany has the Italians sitting third in the group with five points, just two back of the group-leading Hungarians heading into Friday afternoon.
England did not have a great start to the opening window of the Nations League, where they lost two of their opening four contests, and failed to pick up a win as well. Though they had fell just 1-0 to Hungary, and picked up draws against Italy and Germany, the Three Lions were hammered 4-0 in their last match, sitting at the bottom of the group with two points.
Italy has the all-time edge over England, holding a 12-8-9 record, with England’s last win over the Italians during international competition coming back at the Tournoi de France in 1997.
Group A3
- Time: 2:45 p.m. ET
- Where: Red Bull Arena (Leipzig, Germany)
- Channel: FOX Sports 1
- Stream: FuboTV, Sling, DirecTV Stream
The two top teams in the group hope to take to one step closer to the semifinals.
Hungary is definitely the surprising team from the opening matches of the Nations League season. Though they have just a one point lead at the top of A3, the teams they are on top of is certainly stunning. After losing to Italy in their second match Hungary picked up a draw against the Germans, they picked up that big four-goal victory over England to give the squad seven points.
Germany, like Italy, came away with only one victory in the opening window, that coming in a 5-2 win over Italy in their most recent UNL matchup. However, they are one of just three countries to have yet to lose this season, as the Germans are 1-0-3 coming into Friday.
Along with their draw back in June, Germany is 13-11-12 against Hungary, though the last time either team was victorious in a competitive matchup came back when Germany came away with a 3-2 win in championship match of the 1954 FIFA World Cup.
If Hungary were to win, followed with a draw or loss by Italy, the Hungarians would clinch the group and advance to the knockout stage.
